Spring is coming! Is your Moms Group ready to recruit some new members? I’ve come up with some ideas to have fun and meet some new people.
Who’s ready to party!?!
While researching Spring Open House ideas for my MOMS Club®, I realized that there are an overwhelming number of party ideas and options out there. To simplify things a bit, I’ve grouped them by theme below. My favorite Spring party ideas are hosting a public Easter egg hunt (in March) and/or a Kentucky Derby themed party (in April).
The first thing you’ll need to do is decide where your open house will take place. If you can’t host the event at a member’s house or a private rented space (a room at a church, library, community center, swimming pool, fire hall, etc) then consider heading to a local park. Parks are great places for hosting these parties because they give you a safe public place to meet new people and they offer plenty of foot traffic! Just be sure to contact the park as early as possible to book a pavilion on your chosen date (if necessary).
Wherever possible, put up some balloons, a welcome banner and a yard sign for your Moms Group or Club to let people know it’s a free public event. Make sure you advertise the event as much as possible beforehand and consider creating a raffle for a free membership (year-long or trial) in order to get the contact information of several potential new members. Also, be sure to encourage members to invite any Mom friends they know that might be interested in joining.

Everyone can bring a derby dish (mock mint juleps, tea sandwiches, meatballs, Kentucky pie, etc) to share. Stick your Mom’s Group lawn sign in the ground and put up a welcome banner so everyone at the park knows what’s up because the Derby hats are sure to get you noticed by all the cool Moms.

5/1 – May Day
5/5 – Cinco de Mayo
5/8 – Mother’s Day
